Indian Panorama opens with 'Ore Kadal’

38th international film festival of India will be inaugurated today by Bollywood super star Shahrukh khan, at Goa. The festival which will last for another 11 days will have around 200 feature films shown in various packages.

Shyama Prasad's 'Ore Kadal', starring Mammootty and Meera Jasmine, will be the opening film in the Indian Panorama section. The film which has won many laurels from the critics is the screen adaptation of famous Bengali writer Sunil Gangopadhyay's novel 'Heerak Deepthi'.

It revolves around Mammootty, a world famous economist who does not believe in lighter emotions and love, and a housewife, Meera Jasmine, who is tired of the monotonous middle-class life. The panorama will show case 21 films selected for the 119 entries, of which the selected 10 are from South.

Adoor Gopalakrishnan's 'Naalu Pennungal', based on four stories of Jnanpith award-winner Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai,Lenin Rajendran's 'Rathri Mazha' starring Vineeth and Meera Jasmine, Ranjith's 'Kaiyoppu' with Mammootty and Khushboo, and Babu Thiruvalla's 'Thaniye', which stars Nedumudi Venu and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy are the other Malayalam films selected in the Panorama .
